After buying this book on the kindle on a whim and the bunch of books that were retellings of the Little Mermaid.
I found that I loved reading this book. It was easy to get into with and it kept me entertained from start to finish. It was such a quick read and one that stayed with me for a while as it was a fantastic twist on the well known fairy tale.
I loved Elian and Lira and loved the sass of the characters and how they didn't just fall in love with each other at first site and that the romance of the characters were not the main plot of the story. As someone who was not the biggest fan of the Little Mermaid growing up, I was surprised at myself for having enjoyed it as much. Enough to get a physical copy of the book.
The world building in the book was great as although there was a lot of information given, it was not an overload of information where the reader gets confused with where everything is and what it is like.
