The main character is a siren name Lira who is known for drowning princes to their deaths and is considered a villain at the start. Throughout the book, you get to meet her and understand why she is the way she is. Another character that we are shown is Elian who is both a prince and a captain of his very own pirate ship. The characters have a subtle romance that keeps the reader hooked and allows the reader to connect to both Lira and Elian as the novel goes on.
The writing style is just as you would expect the writing style of a young adult fantasy book to be. It’s easy to follow with beautifully written scenes.
