I read this book when my friend recommended it to me. Although it was a bit disappointing since she worshipped this book, I found it interesting.

The cover is beautiful, the design amazing. It contains important elements from the book, which makes it relevant.

The idea is original and complex, being in a way a reverse Little Mermaid story. The characters are diverse and developed, evolving throughout the story, so you can't help but get attached to all of them.

Moreover, it sets the scene in a way that's not boring, which is rare. It is a bit dark in a good way, and a suitable read for young adults and teenagers. I would recommend it to those who liked "A curse so dark and lonely" or the Grishaverse.
