Such a good Adventure

Read this when I was knees deep into my fantasy obsession (still am!) and it was a lovely read. While it was slightly cliche in places, I felt it almost necessary to do so, as all the other current releases of similar themes were trying hard to avoid them, as this book embraced the pirates and sirens…it was brilliant! Once again, we have a strong female protagonist with possible mummy issues (not so possible, let’s be honest) and a Prince who has no choice (or does he?)

The ending was beautiful and made me cry, and the relationships aren’t sexualised unlike other books with similar themes. It’s about adventure and love - platonic and romantic. It was such a good read, especially when the plot twists came and it felt like we could only see despair as our reading fate, until swords and pirate hats entered the building and took our breath away by reinstating happiness and adventure back into our bookshelves!
