This fantasy book is a nice read, and has you drawn in by the first sentence. It truly show how the sirens live, and take part in the world. But, after a twist of fate Lira kills one of her own kind. Her mother must punish her, and she turns into one of the things she hates most, a human. She is stripped of everything that makes her, her. She cannot get back her song or return to the ocean without prince Elian's heart. While he is out trying to kill all sirens they meet. After promising to help him he realizes she may not be who she says she is. Instead of things going to plan she ends up falling in love with him. This book never loses its action and keeps you reading. Very fast paced, with both sirens and piratelike princes. It is easy to fall into this book world and learning to love the characters. Most who loved the story of Ariel will love this book as well.
