I didn't win this book from Readers First but the first glimpse was so good I had to buy it. I honestly really enjoyed it.
There's 2 strong lead character, some rather lovable side characters and of course, an evil Sea Queen. There are parts of this book that are clearly inspired by the little mermaid from Disney; Lira's red hair, the merman shark and the queen's octopus tentacles but there's enough original stuff in it that really makes you forget all that and just fall in love with the story.
There's some beautiful descriptions that show how different the kingdoms can be and I love that you see Lira's character growth throughout the story. It isn't instalove which really helped the story. Honestly, I love this book and I'm glad I bought it.
