To Kill a Kingdom is a debut novel written by Alexandra Christo and is honestly so original and thrilling. This young adult book is basically a more chilling retelling of Disney's 'The Little Mermaid' that digs deep and leaves you feeling unsettled in certain scenes.
The cover of this book is just beautiful in real life with a foil on the lettering and makes a lovely addition to my book case and would grab anyone who saw it in a book store due to its interesting design alone.
The ending of the book was really fulfilling in comparison to other standalone books I have read, especially ones that have a genre of fantasy, so I was really quite impressed with the outcome, however, I would have loved for some of the story to be more fleshed out and detailed because it really would have benefited the over all story!
But all in all, I really enjoyed this story as well as the characters and would recommend this book to anyone.
