I read this book because many people recommended it to me and to be honest I love fairytale remakes I think they are incredible. However I did not enjoy this very much as the I couldn't side with any of the characters as they felt too selfish and I don't think she really deserved a redemption at the end she still did murder many people I think that should have been acknowledged more I guess. The ending felt very rushed and not fleshed out. I did kind of like the relationship and I definitely liked the worldbuilding. The final fight between Lira and her mother I thought was very important and enjoyed seeing the emotions and story really shine through in that scene but again it wasn't as good as it would have been. The concept and characters could be phenomenal but I do not think I really connected to the book in the way that I know I have with other books.
