Adan is not the sharpest of thieves but after making a mess of buying a car in Germany he is told to break into a first floor flat to recover items belonging to his friend Surri in exchange for some of his debt from the fiasco in Germany being waived. He is not told what or where to look for these items and while in the flat the current owners return and he has to leave the flat in a hurry. The occupiers after a party in the flat find two boxes in a hidden compartment in a closet. What are in the boxes and what they mean for Surri and Adan is the context for this Swedish crime mystery.
