Hope seems cool and relatable, going on holiday as an ‘honorary lad’ even though her ex-boyfriend is going too. The story seems predictable in that ‘boy flirts with girl but then doesn’t want anything’ kind of way, but there’s a twist. Why is Hope awoken by two strangers on the beach after she decides to let loose the night before? Immediately the reader is left trying to put the pieces together and figure out what has happened.
