I'm rating this 3.5 stars, a bit more than 3 stars. This is a more gritty YA read than many books I read in this genre and I applaud this approach to realism rather than sunny utopia.

This book is about toxic friendships, toxic relationships and toxic society. This tale is like a descent into one night gone very wrong. I really like the initial and majority point of view of Hope but I was less keen on the other points of view.

I did enjoy and appreciate the tackling of real issues that Nicci Cloke journeyed into with this book but the execution wasn't always enjoyable. Some of the issues raised in this book might be triggers for some readers but they were important and portrayed realistically.
