I have never read a book from this author before but the first chapter here instantly has me hooked. The main character is going through their own issues which is nice to know right off the bat. We also know from the front cover that there will be a missing child which ties in with the narrators issues. The front cover itself is a little generic but it is still somewhat intriguing.
