Trust me this has potential
Wow a dramatic start to a novel, we meet the protagonist who immediately gets landed with a strangers baby, with that same stranger disappearing.
What a bizarre thing to happen and such a good opening hook to me as a reader, I'm immediately asking questions and wanting to find out more.
The only slight critique is that I think there'd be more of a sense of panic and fear from Ellen that doesn't quite come across in the opening pages. a Stranger dumps her baby on you in a train and leaves, I think you'd immediately cause a scene and try and get it resolved, not calmly start thinking about the why and what if's.
I would however love to read more and get to the bottom of what's happening and what's the deal with baby Mia, and presumably the crime/thriller that is to come.
I've heard of the author I think but never read his works before, but it reads well so far.
