Wow! What a start to this thriller. Right from the beginning we meet our main character and the tricky circumstances she finds herself in. The author has captured the heartache of a woman who is struggling with fertility issues really well. The description of Mia, the environment and of Ellen's feelings are so well written. And I particularly like how he has contrasted the softness and purity of Mia against the untrusting, potentially dangerous environment around her. I like how the author has made Ellen re-think everything about every day mundane things she just mindlessly did. We already have questions, who is the mother and why did she hand over Mia? A good mystery and already very thrilling. I am keen to read this one and I hope this pace and excellent writing continues throughout.
