If you’re looking for a thriller you can’t go wrong with T. M. Logan’s books. Trust Me had been sitting on my bookshelf for a while so I decided to start it at last.

Ellen is on a train when a nervous young woman asks if she would hold her baby for a few minutes while she makes a phone call. Ellen is only too happy to oblige as she thinks the baby is very cute. More than five minutes pass and the woman hasn’t returned and Ellen is becoming concerned. As the train is pulling away, she sees the woman on the platform, rushing away. Ellen finds a note amongst the baby’s belongings “Please protect Mia. Don’t trust the police. Don’t trust anyone.“ What has Ellen become involved with?

What follows is a page turning plot. Ellen really has a rough week as she tries to work out who she can trust. She’s threatened, followed and her house is broken into and ransacked. All she wants is to keep the baby safe. Ellen has recently split up from her husband and had numerous failed rounds of IVF. A baby of her own is sadly not a possibility.

There are quite a few characters in this book but I didn’t find it difficult to keep track of who was who. The book is definitely gripping and I wanted to find out what was going on.

I didn’t really like Ellen’s character. I found her obsession with baby Mia very strange and disconcerting. It’s sad she can’t have a baby of her own but I don’t think that justifies how she behaved.

Unfortunately, I had worked out who the baddie was and I was so disappointed to be proved right. Usually my guesses are way off and I’m shocked with a twist. The ending was a bit of an anti-climax for me, I had expected a bit more oomph.

Despite this, I would still recommend the book. It’s a good thriller and the plot is something different.
