This is the first of T. M. Logan’s books that I have read, but I know it will definitely not be my last!

From the opening chapter alone, I loved the intrigue that was created and I was fully invested in the story. Ellen is on a train to Marylebone when a flustered young mother sits opposite her with her baby girl. When the mother needs to make an urgent call she asks Ellen if she will hold her for just a few moments whilst she makes the call. Holding baby Mia in her arms, Ellen’s heart aches for what she can never have. When the minutes tick by and the young mother still hasn’t returned to her seat, Ellen begins to worry. As the train stops at a station, she is then stunned to see the woman hurrying away down the platform! Ellen is about to raise the alarm when she spots a note in the baby’s bag which has been left behind. Three lines scrawled in a hurry which say as follows: Please protect Mia. Don’t trust the police. Don’t trust anyone...

I found myself racing through the pages to see what would happen next as Ellen struggled to decide what to do for the best after reading that note. I loved how this book was told in the first person from Ellen’s perspective. She was such a brilliant character and I cannot even begin to imagine how scared she must have felt when she found herself in ever increasingly dangerous situations! I really liked too how there were chapters every now and then from perspectives of other characters including Leon, Dominic, DI Gilbourne and DS Holt as well as short chapters from a voice in italics with no name. It was also very effective how lots of the chapters ended on mini cliffhangers as it meant I just didn’t want to put the book down!

As the story progressed and more details were revealed I love the feeling of surprise I had as I was reading. My suspicions and thoughts about who was behind everything kept shifting throughout, although around the mid way point I really thought I had something figured out. I couldn’t have been more wrong! I only realised what Ellen was about to uncover a split second before I read the page where the truth became known. This was such a genius twist; I absolutely loved it!

Having enjoyed Trust Me so much, I am definitely going to read T. M. Logan’s four previous books very soon!
