Brilliantly executed, tense and shocking – this was a great read. The premise had me hooked from page one. It is spooky, clever and full of suspense! It had me questioning, what would I do in this situation? Ellen is a wonderful character, brave and resourceful. She tries to always do the right thing, although this is often tainted by her lack of all the facts and her determination to protect Mia. The different points of view make the story incredibly fast-paced. The plot is so much more than just the mystery of why the mother abandoned her child – it is complex with lots of twists and turns! It’s great trying to unravel the mystery alongside Ellen and everyone becomes a threat as you try to put together all the clues. There is an eerie sense of unease from page one and I flew through the book! This was my first T. M. Logan book, but I am definitely going to check out his others.
