This is so improbable but creepy, what would cause a woman to leave her baby with a total stranger on a train and why does she worry about the baby’s safety? Ellen was on a train making what she thought would be a fairly everyday journey when she finds herself left with three month old Mia and a bag of her basic belongings along with a note telling Ellen to protect Mia. We then follow Ellen over the next few days as she tries to unravel what’s gone on whilst trying to ensure that Mia is safe. With plenty of dubious characters involved you can understand why Ellen struggles to understand why she was entrusted with Mia and her obsessions for both Mia and the truth. I didn’t find Ellen a particularly likeable character but the actions she took and her though processes were engrossing, as the truth gradually unravels the story becomes more disturbing however I wasn’t shocked by the perpetrators identity. Overall though this is highly unusual, thought provoking and a definite page turner.
