Curiouser and curiouser.
A flustered young mother on a train asks you to hold her baby whilst she makes an urgent telephone call. However, when she doesn’t come back after 10 minutes you start to get concerned. But the baby feels good in your arms although it brings with it a sense of longing. The train pulls into a station and you catch sight of the mother rushing along the platform away from the train, where has she gone and why has she left her baby? You find a note amongst the baby’s things instructing you to not go to the police, not to trust anyone and asking that you care for the child. A warning?
I was intrigued to read the description of this book and I really need to find out more. This is my kind book full of mystery and intrigue. I enjoyed ‘The holiday’ by this author and I have no doubt that I will find this book just as enjoyable. I cannot wait to read it all.
