On the train back home one day, Ellen holds a strangers baby while the mother takes an important call, five minutes later she sees the mother walking off the train and down the platform. She sees a note in the baby's bag "Please protect Mia, don't trust the police, don't trust anyone". Ellen doesn't know what to do, she has always longed for children but is unable to have any of her own.

The first half of the book was so gripping! The storyline is so interesting and there is constant action! Mia is special and someone is after her, there are a lot of red herrings in the book and it does a good job at making you think it's one person one minute and then another person the next.

However, the second half of the book lost it's momentum for me and I felt the other characters were forgotten about. It also became quite predictable.

Saying that, I really enjoyed this book and T.M.Logan's writing style so I have now bought his other book 'The Catch'.
