Imagine you are travelling on a train and a stranger gives you her child to look after whilst she makes a phone call. You only made small talk with her and suddenly you are responsible for the child. That's what happened to Ellen. What follows next is a twisty, suspenseful, well written and pacy story of a woman trying to do the right thing amongst bureaucracy and secrets. The tale is told from the perspective of different characters, so there are many plot twists and red herrings. Having quickly finished reading this book (I couldn't put it down), it is clever. I feel there are some outstanding questions, but they are minor points. I've read TM Logan's other novels: The Holiday, and The Catch and both are twisty suspenseful who done it type books. I would recommend TM Logan's books to anyone because they are well researched and not just fiction. A writer that makes stories as true to life as possible create the best work.
