Very interesting storyline

Thrillers are my go to genre whenever I am looking for a new book to read and what annoys me the most is when they all have that typical storyline of who did the crime. I feel like this boon strays away from the stereotypical go to thriller storyline and offers a very interesting one instead. I really like the character development throughout the story but particularly at the start the way the author has only offered a glimpse, a very brief introduction of what this mother ( who has just abandoned her character ) is like. The fact that this mother has no voice at this point in the story excites me even more , encouraging me to read further as it strips away her identity causing the reader ( me) to focus even more on the only things we know for certain about her - the note that she has left. I thought this was really clever as it makes the reader question things even more and just keeps you really gripped
