Ellen is travelling home from work on the train, a normal day to an empty flat in an empty life, when a young woman Kathryn sits opposite her and asks her to hold her three month old baby girl Mia while she takes a phone call. Minutes later as the train pulls into a station Kathryn has not returned, then Ellen notices her, but she can't believe what she is seeing, Kathryn is hurrying away from the train with tears streaming down her face.
What happens next is unbelievable, Ellen doesn't know what to do especially when she finds a note in the rucksack left on the train seat stating "Please protect Mia, Don't trust the police, Don't trust anyone ". What is Ellen to do, she feels that she has no choice but to take Mia with her, now what.... go to the police? go home? But the situation gets made for her and thereafter follows a frightening time for Ellen as she tries to protect Mia, but from whom or what?
I was drawn into this storyline right from the first few pages and couldn't put it down or get it out of my mind. This is the first book I have read by T.M. Logan and will definitely be looking out for more of his work in the future. Would recommended to anyone who enjoys a great thriller, you won't be disappointed. A 5 ☆ read.
