The location, Rome, will probably prove to be the heroine in this story. The scene-setting and descriptions are vivid and multi-sensory. Lottie and Tom both appear to have interesting jobs but we see through Lottie's eyes only. The cover is quite beautiful and the motifs are already recognisable. It's a shame the intensity is slightly marred by occasional mistakes in the English.
