I was excited to read this book after reading the first impression here on readers first, the start was certainly stronger than the rest of the book for me and the plot fell a little flat. Saying that, the book was well written, but I feel like the author could have given more. The characters, Nina and Lottie are who this book focus around with it being set in two timelines (1970’s and present day)
I wanted to connect with the characters, and did to a degree but as with the rest of the book, did not meet its full potential.
Definitely a good concept for a thriller which I might try and read again, but certainly didn’t meet expectations unfortunately.
A lot of the story felt underdeveloped for it being a gripping thriller, and I felt like there could have been more exploration opportunities for both the characters and the plot too.
Overall 3 stars.
