I give this book 3 stars and this isn't because I did or did not enjoy it. I enjoyed parts of it however I fought to get into this until after maybe page 70 and then I found it quite difficult to put down.
Elizabeth Buchan writes in such a way I felt like I myself were in Rome discovering this woman Nina myself. I was getting quite eager to figure more out about her and why she was murdered. The more Lottie found out I the more I needed to know. However it gives a sense of danger to Lottie what is she uncovering and what is her husband hiding.
Two women in Rome is such an atmospheric piece to me, it gives me feeling of being in a hot sunny country myself rather than an urban concrete yard where I spent much of my time reading this novel. I even took it upon myself to cook up the slow cooked pork loin recipe mentioned.
I do give thought to mention it took me quite a bit of perseverance to thoroughly get into this book and I had to push through the first 50 or so pages until things got thoroughly interesting.
