This is a beautifully written story telling the tale of two women who are newly living in the mysterious city of Rome set over 50 years apart. Lottie a archivist moving to Rome to live with her newly wedded partner Tom after their brief yet passionate romance. However demons from her past abandonment from her mother continues to haunt her even in the magical streets of Rome so far from home. In order to battle this she dives into the unsolved murder mystery of Nina Lawrence a horticulturalist who also recently moved to Rome to escape her past and experiences her own fleeting romance. I thoroughly enjoyed this book following along lottie and she discovered more and more about Nina and much about herself in the process. The story was beautifully written and the enchanting Italian setting only added to this beauty along with a thrilling and mysterious plot line. Would recommend this book to anyone interested in historical fiction crossed with mystery and romance!
