This book is set in Rome and, from the short read, appears to follow the stories of two women: one yet unknown to us, and Lottie (who has moved from the UK to Rome to be with her husband, Tom).

The book immediately draws you in with the synopsis. The characters are unnamed and intriguing. It's not immediately clear from the first couple of chapters how they will come to play a part in Lottie and Tom's story - which for me is the sign of a good book! The synopsis leaves you guessing, and reading each part of Lottie and Tom's story wondering how the two will eventually intertwine. Even from the short read, I think it very much colours the rest of the book.

A good opener that sets the scene well. It's not too wordy and/or descriptive but does give you a good picture of Rome and Lottie's first experiences of living there. It seems like it would be an easy read that would be hard to put down.
