The descriptions of Italy really make you feel like you are there in the story with Lottie whilst she unravels Nina's story. You follow her journey and feel both her frustrations and joy in her quest to unravel the truth.
I didn't know much about Italy in the 1970s, and though the story is fictional, the conflicts mentioned are true and I really did learn a lot.
You also get a strong an understanding of Italy's conflict between the religious Catholic church, politicians and the will of the people.
Overall a very well written book which draws you in and keeps you wanting more!
