Lottie Archer is newly married to Tom and has arrived in Rome to a new job as an archivist.
During her work she stumbles across the case of Nina Lawrence,a case that piques her interest and intrigues her enough to follow her research through.
Ostensibly to the world Nina works restoring old gardens post war.
But Nina is hiding secrets and Lottie is not going to quit until she gets to the bottom of it.
I kind of found this one took a little while to get into and for some reason the blurb actually sounded a better premise than the story lived upto be.
Think maybe it's due to the political references and storyline.
I thought this sounded more a mystery into the past, it kind of was but all spying, politics just didn't do it for me as I know very little in that area.
Plus I wanted just a bit more closure to the ending, what happened to some of the characters, how did their stories and the situations turn out further in ten future.
For me this wasn't an overwhelmingly good read but I realise and freely admit as stated above some of the topic matter used just wasn't my scene.
