From the vibrant colour of the cover, I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the story. Each page was well written and incredibly enticing and i thoroughly enjoyed reading how everything was described creating such a vivid image of the characters and their personalities. However, the storyline was just not for me. I just wanted more from the character Tom which I thought it may lead back to. Furthermore, I did love the back and forth between modern-day and the 70s making it a slight educational read with the little hints back to the history of Rome.

In my opinion, I think a twist of some sort in the plot was needed to keep me gripped. The author did a splendid job of keeping me slightly attached to the main character as a reader but I just needed something more from the plot. I think it is interesting with how in the first couple of chapters I was sure the so called secret would lead with the husband Tom as a main accomplice but I did love how the secret was hidden throughout.
