I thought that this first impression was beautifully written, even if it isn't my usual genre. From the blurb and the opening pages it feels that this will be quite an emotional story. I warmed to Wolfie straight away, he seems like a lovely character, and well loved in his neighbourhood. The cover is unusual, but not disagreeable.
