I liked the front cover, and one I would pick up in a book shop. When I saw the chapter titles Smoking Salmon and Broken Biscuits I knew this book was right up my street and banging on my front door to be let in and enjoyed.
I liked the idea of it set in the 1950's so a modern tale, but not too up-to-date as who doesn't love a bit of nostalgia of a bygone age, when lives were simple, people were happy with nothing and so grateful for everything and were full of hope and plans for the future.
The idea of it being from the perspective of 12 different people sounds a great way to get inside the homes and discover all the lives, and the love story of Wolfie and Mona is enough to melt my heart.
Definitely on my wish list and Santa, I have been so good this year!
