I really like when a book isn’t overly dramatic but focuses on the true day to day struggles of people in their normal lives. Getting old is something I think a lot of us dread and I can only hope I’ll have somebody as lovely as Wolfie seems to look after me when I’m older. Embracing the truth of a life with a loved one with dementia/Alzheimer’s and not glamourising it (which I’m presuming this book does not) is a story we all need to read. I also like that there is not a typical family unit but a close community of individuals choosing to be each other’s family.
