Just from reading the blurb and excerpt I can tell that this is a groundingly realistic book with a strong plot. The writing style is that somewhat reminiscent of television episodes in the way that it follows multiple characters and is written in third person. I can already tell that this is a book that will take me through a rollercoaster of emotions and move me to tears.
