Having just finished my 'first look' at what promises to be a delightful, poignant and thought-provoking story about family, long-lasting love, loss and community, I know without a shadow of a doubt that this is a book I won't be able to put down once I start it ... and, as the wonderfully evocative descriptions of food have already made my mouth water, I also know that I'll need to read it with tasty snacks to hand!
I've already fallen in love with Wolfie and Mona and, if I'm lucky enough to win a copy of this book, I'll look forward to getting to know each of the other characters who will be adding their own perspectives to life in this community. An added draw for me is that I know Victoria Park very well so I'll be able to visualise the setting as I read.
