The first page is a great opener. Beautifully descriptive without overwhelming us with information. Like we often see. I did wonder how much talk of cooking there was going to be as i am no chef.
However it is written in such a way that makes you hungry and want to pick up an apron and start cooking.
Mona and wolfie are such brilliant and much needed characters. i was fighting back tears and biting a quivering lip to stop myself from crying at points.
My family, like many others have been effected by dementia and this book really is spot on.

It is giving the reader a looking glass to experience what someone with dementia feels.

This book may help the reader see and understand dementia in a new way.
It made me realise that dementia is the equivelant of being put into a time machine. Only you recognise the sudden changes. Everyone else is calm, clueless and looking at you a but funny. You feel detached and the world around you becomes surreal.
The confusion, the oblivion, the frustration. Alongside the happiness and appreciating every little thing from the smell of flowers to a cool breeze on your skin.

This book reminds the reader to appreciate everything they have. No matter how small it seems. It also reminds us to be thankful for our hardships. As hardships show a life that has been lived.

I havent read anything by this author but i certainly will be in future.
