This is a delightfully created novel, its interconnected stories digging directly into the human condition. It weaves flawlessly all through alternate points of view, its moving POVs so skilfully dealt with that each new character shows up full grown.

Throughout a year we are acquainted with the existences of twelve nearby occupants. A new corrosive assault has sent stun waves through the local area, and the novel is bookended by a lavishly noticed story of a marriage damaged by demolishing wellbeing. There are frustrations galore for these characters - a calm acknowledgment that their real factors have missed the mark regarding their cravings – yet bliss confidence actually go through Reeves' composing like a stick of rock. I regularly ended up rehashing lines, just to sit in their expressiveness some time longer.

The recreation center around which these lives circle is likewise wonderfully caught, and in a year when nature and local area have never felt so significant, it was a powerful and inspiring read
