Victoria Park is beautiful, honest, wondrous, heartbreaking novel. I couldn't recommend it more. The cover was beautiful and I'm so glad I picked it up. Mona and Wolfie, an elderly married couple, are long-term home owners in Victoria Park, 12 characters over the course of a single year.
A labyrinth of lives, 10 others are explored across the book through months. Victoria Park is a breath of fresh air and a definite diversion from my usual reads. I will be looking out for books like Victoria Park. I loved each of the characters in different ways and the fact they were all interlinked, in some intangible way. The prose was simply delicious, and this was all in all a more than rewarding debut from Gemma Reeves! This book managed to captured feelings of solitude, and connection, and the variegated, shifting narratives and perspectives were highly enjoyable, this is praiseworthy prose!
