The colouring and cover of this book is very soft and gentle, just like this book. It is both beautiful on the inside and on the outside. The story starts with Mona and Wolfie who have been married 65 years and have lived in Victoria Park for over 50 years, they are the key cogs in their community. This is the story of the characters from their neighbourhood. Everything is so beautifully described and in such detail that you really feel you have met the characters and can experience their surroundings and how they have changed with gentrification. Mona and Wolfie are described by a friend as their ‘favourite cantankerous fools’; they are so likeable and you can feel the warmth from them as character. This is a lovely book to read in the world we are right now! I really enjoyed this book and feel it’s highly worthy of all of the praise it’s received.
