After reading the first look I was sure that this was my sort of book. Instead I found it very disappointing. The story is about the lives of various people who live near Victoria Park in London. The first and last chapters are about Mona and Wolfie who have lived near the park for over fifty years and are about to celebrate sixty five years of marriage. Sadly Mona is suffering from dementia and Wolfie is struggling to keep her safe. Each of the remaining chapters moves forward one month and introduces new characters. There are several issues raised including IVF, theft, aging, infidelity and an acid attack in the park that causes unease among the community. Although there were some links between the people it seemed more like a series of short stories that gave the reader a glimpse of different lives but didn't draw everything together.
