I have found Victoria Park to be a really relaxing read during the crazy festive period. I like how we move month to month focusing on different characters but with little snippets of overlap between the people and events, all centered around Victoria Park. There was a lot to think about whilst reading. Difficult issues such as dementia, IVF and marital difficulties are touched upon and explored but leaving space for the reader to imagine what may happen next and the potential outcomes for the affected parties. There are many characters across the book who could easily have their own book to tell their story in more detail. However in some respects I have enjoyed being able to imagine aspects for myself. I would recommend Victoria Park for anyone who fancies an absorbing read but nothing too taxing or difficult. As an added bonus, the cover is also stunning!
