This was a beautifully written book. Its not my usual type of read but I liked it. It follows several characters; mona, Wolfie, Monty, Vicky etc. It is definitely realism and has realistic issues and sensitive topics such as IVF, loss and acid attacks. I think that provides awareness amongst readers of these issues and you get to live several lives through these characters. It's a real eye opener to some of the issues that other people face in their daily lives. It took me on an emotional roller coaster. It's incredibly moving.
I am familiar with the setting as I know the area but the way the author describes it made me see it in a new light. In a quaint comfortable way I was able to see these characters in my mind and envision exactly where they were.
I also loved how the chapters or parts were named after the months in a year, though it was inconsistent which makes me think that it's more to do with the seasons than the months.
