I really enjoyed reading Victoria Park, a debut novel by Gemma Reeves. Set over the course of a year, the story is told via monthly chapters and gives an insight into the lives of characters who live beside a park in London. The writing style convincingly brings to life the different characters through an authentic perspective which helps you keep track of how their everyday lives are intertwined. There are some sad and upsetting topics covered but overall this novel is a story of love, compassion and hope with a real sense of community spirit. I look forward to reading more books from this author and I would encourage people to read this book as it is easy to read, it drew me in after the first few pages and after that I could not put it down. I know you should never judge a book by its cover but I thought the hardback cover on this was exquisite too!
