This novel takes place over the space of a year focussing upon a small community living around Victoria Park. Each chapter focusses on a different family or person living in the area, but is also about how their lives mix and entwine with the other characters found using the park or area.
Each family has their own stories to tell, their own histories, and their own personal issues that they are dealing with, some never speak to each other, others know each other well.
The author writes with compassion and an easy going style that makes this book an absolute pleasure to read. I just really wish that some of the questions posed were answered in the text, the book left me wishing for more, maybe just one more chapter to tie up those ends. But possibly this was the desired affect.
Overall a lovely uncomplicated read, and I hope that she goes on to write more!
