I really liked the cover of this book. The blurb intrigued me and it sounded right up my street.
Despite all these early positive indicators I have found the first few pages somewhat dull. The initial imagery of butterflies and chrysalis was pretty, but it seemed quite surface. Then as we are introduced to the main characters new job I just found it lingered too long on detail and became dull. Her initial contact with who I presume was her mother did not sound believable and for me did not set a good tone for the rest of the book. It appears to set it up as a sad story of a relative with severe mental health issues rather than a creepy, possible horror novel. Over all I felt disappointed
