If I'm being honest, when reading the extract, the words 'my jerk of a boss' automatically put me off this style of writing. It seems like writing of extremes and absolutes which, in my experience, just aren't how people really are. The blurb is definitely interesting but unfortunately the extract just didn't make me want to read this one.
