The cover image is a little too dark in colour for my liking and although the large cormorant in the centre stands out, it dwarfs the title and the author's name.
I'm not a fan of young adult folklore so I can't say that the synopsis holds much appeal. The extract seems well written but the story is clearly aimed at young adult folklore fans.
