Waking the witch is a short read packed with plenty of adventure. I thoroughly enjoyed this delve into welsh mythology as it's something that I don't know a lot about and this book was a great introduction! It's also nice to see a book covering different forms of mythology to the most popularised ones in literature today. Ivy as the main character was very well written, her character development was as she continued on the search for her mother in the Welsh Isle's was written well and was believable. The female empowerment woven throughout was lovely to read as well and I think that this would make a great book for young adults trying to navigate the world and this book holds a lot of meaning and has the potential to be very relatable for many. Definitely pick up this book if you're trying to meet a reading goal, it is a short yet impactful read!
