Waking the Witch is about Ivy, a self-reliant, hardworking, and intensely private young woman. She hasn't had an easy time of it, growing up in care after being abandoned as a baby at a service station. Moved from foster home to foster home, she learnt the hard way what happens when you let your defences down and people in.
